The book has some really kick-ass characters, good action and some really cool magick. The banter between Rho and Eldon is fun and enjoyable. He is her best friend but wants to be more. The relationship between Rho and her sire Frederick is easy going and friendly. Like, how did her parents die? What is the King’s real interest in her? Why was she given the role of an executioner at such a young age. Along with all this Rho also has to deal with her feelings for a man she can’t have. But among the group of people who don’t trust each other, will they manage to complete their mission, before they kill each other. Rho has to work with Eldon, Tim a werewolf and Preshea a shifter to find the lost relics and bring them back home.
The three species along with the were species work together to find the lost relics. And now the vampires, shifters and magick-movers have lost their Kamens.
It’s loss means the apocalypse of the world as the otherworld-ers know it. It’s what lets the vampires drink blood, what lets the shifters shift and what lets the fae and magick-movers use their magick. But even after all his efforts, when the relic is lost, mayhem ensues in the other world.Ī Kamen is an ancient relic filled with magick. She approaches a magick-mover, Eldon Tradare, the strongest of his kind. When she is given an ancient relic by her King, she has to do everything she can to protect. To the position of the executor- a position she does not want. Rhowen ‘Rho’ Vasile is a vampire, and she has been recently promoted. For a debut novel Chauntelle Baughman did a very good job. It was action packed, fast-paced and easy to read. A set of strong characters and a solid storyline makes it a great read.
#DARQ STRANGE KEY SERIES#
Rarely do you see similar puzzle setups used more than once, but the variation of how they are presented and solved really makes this game one of my favorite puzzle games this DLC being no exception.Book one in the DarqRealm series Magick Marked is a fantastic read. They did a great job with bringing unique puzzles to this DLC chapter that you don’t see on the previous ones, which can also be said about each chapter of the game as a whole. Overall, the gameplay is very similar to the rest of the game, but the added separation of body and head definitely made the puzzles a little more intriguing to solve. Combining the use of both body and head parts, you will need to find your way through the puzzles and collect key pieces to activate other puzzles in order to proceed. You will also have to know where the head needs to be or needs to go so that you can put your body in the right location or set up the pathway before using the access port that lets you switch control to the head. Once again you will be using all sides of the rooms as walkable surfaces, given they are flat and uninterrupted by plants, coffins, or other elements.
#DARQ STRANGE KEY FREE#
That said, these DLC’s are free right from the start regardless of what platform you play on and so I must encourage you to play the base game before playing either of the DLC’s, especially this one. While the gameplay itself is the same as the main game itself, there is the added element that your head is missing and used as a secondary component to control and interact with the puzzles. On top of the atmosphere, it was definitely a solid add-on to the overall game experience. ’ This time, the DLC takes place in ‘The Crypt’ and definitely does a good job to provide some uniquely strange puzzles while exploiting the eerie atmosphere this gothic-themed puzzle game has provided from the start. With all the latest news on how Unfold Games is planning to continue their debut game Darq and turn it into a series with a well-planned future, I was more excited for the final free DLC to drop for the initial game than I was when they released the first free DLC called ‘ The Tower.
